Spring Activities In Grand Lake, Colorado

Spring is undoubtedly the quietest season in Grand Lake, Colorado. After the ski seasons at Winter Park Resort and Gran by Ranch have ended by mid-April, and the snowmobiling trails have melted away, life slows down.

In April and early May, you can get the best deals of the year on lodging, at a time when many of the 60 bars, restaurants, shops, and galleries in Grand Lake still remain open for business.

Spring activities in Grand Lake include:

  • Rocky Mountain National Park (the park is open year-round, even though Trail Ridge Road, which connects Grand Lake to Estes Park, typically doesn’t re-open until Memorial Day)
  • Cross Country Skiing
  • Snowshoeing
  • Hiking
  • Photography
  • Wildlife Observation
